Atmospheric pressure is the weight of the atmosphere on Earths surface in one place. In low pressure areas air rises and clouds form which bring rain. In high pressure ares are cannot rise and few clouds can form.

When the atmospheric pressure is very heavy no clouds form and the people that live in the area may go months without rain.
